POSITIONS APPLIED FOR

For MAPOMA based in Madrid, Spain, we are actively looking for a highly motivated, fluent English and Spanish speaking Athlete Services Manager.

The Athlete Services team are responsible for overseeing the entire athlete experience, from the setup of on-line registrations, athlete queries, bib allocation, athlete communication via e-mails, registration onsite, athlete welfare and the awards ceremony. They must work closely with Operations manager, Race Director, Partnership team managing Expo, Operations team, Timing company, Race referee, Announcers, Marketing team and medical team to ensure a smooth experience for athletes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day athlete enquiries and services, answering e-mails and phone calls.
  • Close collaboration with Marketing and Athlete Development:
    • Support executing athlete development programs such as Mapoma Runner´s and Running to Schools by Mapoma.
  • Coordinate Event Registration Openings.
    • Athlete guide.
    • Administration and maintenance of the online registration tool (RocktheSport) and the athlete database (CRM):
    • Set up event registration forms in RocktheSport.
  • Planning & implementing of participant accreditation onsite at Events.
  • Layout planning of set up.
  • Coordinate and supervisor Team Leaders and volunteers onsite.
  • Work closely together with local federations, timing partner and other partners to ensure smooth execution of events.
  • Assist with bulk ordering.
  • Prepare manuals for all areas that concern Athlete Services before the events.
  • Dealing with all post event related tasks such as timing result issues, athlete complaints and lost property.

Skills and competencies

Your excellent communication (written and verbal) skills qualify you to work with the athlete service department. Independent working style, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure and solve problems are self-evident for you.   • Bachelor’s degree or vocational school ideally in administration, economy, sport, or endurance/event business.
  • 1 – 2 years in sport event area or customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute MAPOMA social media and content strategies by planning, creating, and delivering ONLINE & OFFLINE content.
  • Manage MAPOMA social media channels on a day-to-day basis – including but not limited to content and community management on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Create and manage MAPOMA press releases on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist in translating the magic of our physical activities to the digital realms through race & trainings coverage by working with existing content from our media teams or by creating content on-site.
  • Work with our marketing team to develop and execute organic social media campaigns WORLDWIDE.
  • Manage and create content series and templates with the digital marketing and design teams and work with Adobe Creative Cloud applications to customize templates.
  • Report on performance of social media activities and make recommendations for improvements based on those results.
  • Collaborate with partnerships and sales teams on contract-based partner activations and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends for content, channels, design, strategy, and applications.

Skills and competencies

  • 1-3 years of related experience in social media marketing or content creation.
  • Excellent written English skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Content creation skills that include copywriting and creative design (Adobe Creative Cloud applications).
  • Ability to produce photo and video content.
  • Tech savviness and an affinity for the world of digital marketing and content creation.
  • Strong time management and ability to work in teams as well as independently.
